A haunting and darkly comic modern folk tale of the burdens of survival

Meet Angharad, a charismatic nomad and centuries-old witch.

Wandering barefoot over East Anglia, she drags behind her a wheelie bag filled with human heads – trophies she’s collected from lovers, friends and enemies – and passes the years ritually re-enacting all her most cherished memories.

But Angharad is not alone. No matter where she goes, she is always pursued by her ‘Shadow’, a terrifying creature intent upon exposing her darkest secrets.

Accompanied by live drumming, and blending slapstick, ritual and shamanic dance, WYRD SISTER is a haunting modern folk tale of the burdens of survival.

Contemporary Ritual Theatre fuses the ancient and modern into a bold new form known as ‘ritual theatre’ – a visceral, immersive and rhythmical style that unites performers and audience in a single, unforgettable ritual. WYRD SISTER marks the company’s Ipswich premiere, and follows the UK tour of their critically acclaimed first project SALT.
