Oyster Land, a film by Matthew John Harrison, spends time with the oystermen of Mersea Island, Essex and explores the ancient oyster culture of the city of Colchester. It's an atmospheric journey exploring the realities and rituals of working on the waters of the Blackwater Estuary. Filmmaker Matthew John Harrison will introduce the film alongside the soundtrack composer Rev. Matthew Simpkins who will perform a collection of tracks inspired by the Essex coast.
