Cambridge organist Jamie Robertson will perform his own arrangements of well-known film music on Snape Church’s pipe organ. The programme includes music from Wilde, Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar, The Lion King, Up and Ennio Morricone’s Spaghetti Westerns.
The music will be introduced with short narration about the films and their composers, so the concert is intended for film fans and general audiences as well as organ enthusiasts. The performance will last about an hour, without an interval.
Jamie has performed on the organs of the Royal Hospital School in Suffolk, Norwich Cathedral and Trinity College, Cambridge. His recent film-music concert in Haverhill, Suffolk, raised funds for Caudwell Children, which supported him and his family when he was younger.
The Snape concert is organised by the Friends of Snape Church and will support the maintenance and improvement of St John the Baptist Church and its role in village life. Admission by donation; refreshments available beforehand
The concert has already been featured on the official Snape Village website: Snape Village event notice
