From Northern Lands: Colchester Chamber Choir Sat 17th October
After a long hot summer, join Colchester Chamber Choir at St Botolph’s Church, Colchester on Saturday 17th October for an evening of musical delights from the cool lands of Scandinavia and northern Europe. You will hear remarkable music by composers like Grieg, Stenhammar and Sibelius.
Additionally there will be beautiful pieces by Alfvén, Linberg, Peterson-Berger, Wikander and Lange-Muller – all composers the choir have presented before with considerable approval. There will also be three partsongs by Brahms inspired by northern myths, including a setting of the semi-mythical Scottish bard Ossian. The programme will be completed with three beautiful English settings by Ernest Moeran from his Songs of Springtime.
