Roachford + Hue And Cry
80s icons Hue and Cry and Roachford have announced a co-headline UK tour for 2026, bringing a special show featuring full sets and full bands to Cambridge. Brothers Patrick and Gregory Kane formed Hue and Cry in 1984 and the duo made a huge impact with the release of their debut album βSeduced and Abandonedβ (1987) which featured their first top ten single βLabour of Loveβ. The follow up album βRemoteβ continued the trend and produced the huge hits βLooking for Lindaβ & βViolentlyβ. Albums like βStars Crash Downβ, βShowtimeβ and βJazz Not Jazzβ ensured Hue and Cryβs continued successful run through the 90βs, whilst their 2005 appearances as finalists on ITVβs primetime show βHit Me Baby One More Timeβ, featuring their version of Beyonceβs βCrazy In Loveβ, thrust the band firmly back into the mainstream limelight. Hue and Cry have sold more than two million records worldwide, released 15 studio albums and performed alongside some of the greatest artists in music history – appearing with U2, James Brown, Madonna, Al Green and Van Morrison. The brothers will be honoured with the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2025 Scottish Music Awards in recognition of their career spanning across four decades. Roachford has become one of the most compelling and consistent rock and soul artists the UK has produced, since βCuddly Toyβ reached Number 4 in the charts in 1988. He has released 10 studio albums and several greatest hits collections, been sought-after as a songwriter by the likes of Michael Jackson, Joss Stone and Chaka Khan, and consistently toured on his own and with contemporaries including Terence Trent DβArby and The Christians. For the past nine years, he has been part of Mike + the Mechanics, recording with Mike Rutherfordβs post-Genesis band and playing live with them across the world. In 2019, Roachford received an MBE for Services to Music.
Venue: Cambridge Corn Exchange.
